Restoration Done Right

WWF EPO

Europe’s marine ecosystems are under increasing pressure from overfishing and destructive fishing practices, threatening biodiversity and the long-term health of coastal communities.

WWF’s Restoration Done Right project will help ensure that EU member states include strong, science-based measures in their National Restoration Plans under the EU Nature Restoration Law. In target countries, the project will advocate for tools such as no-take zones, selective fishing restrictions and anchoring bans in sensitive habitats. Through targeted public communications, corporate engagement and direct policy advocacy, WWF will build broad support for ambitious marine restoration. By elevating successful examples and reducing political risk, the project aims to secure the adoption of effective measures in national plans and deliver meaningful recovery of Europe’s seas.
