End Sewage Pollution

Surfers Against Sewage

Decades of underinvestment, deregulation, and corporate mismanagement have left the UK’s water industry in crisis — sewage pollution is rising, enforcement is weak, and public trust is eroding. Despite early gains in water quality, untreated discharges remain widespread.

Surfers Against Sewage will seize this once-in-a-generation legislative and political opportunity to drive systemic reform. By combining grassroots mobilization, citizen science, expert analysis, and high-impact advocacy, they will push for robust accountability, financial transparency, and democratic governance in the sector. Key actions will include supporting empowered community engagement, and holding regulators and companies to account, aimed to deliver lasting change for cleaner rivers, lakes, and seas.
