The Reuse Revolution: Developing a Global Reuse Roadmap
Break Free from Plastic
By providing evidence-based solutions — technical and policy recommendations – BFFP aim to effectively empower governments and communities to address the plastic pollution crisis in systematic and proven ways. In collaboration with the Global Plastics Policy Centre at Portsmouth University (also funded by Flotilla), they will produce a solution-focused, evidence-based technical/policy roadmap, detailing what needs to happen to mainstream Reuse models and replace reliance on single-use and disposable plastics, and significantly reduce the production of more plastics, while avoiding problematic and controversial industry practices (e.g., chemical recycling, incineration, etc.). The roadmap will be used as key input for the global plastic treaty negotiation (UNEA) process, and with backing from other groups and sectors working on climate, finance, labour, and human rights.
