Wed­dell Sea Expedition

Flotil­la Foun­da­tion has sup­port­ed a pio­neer­ing, inter-dis­ci­pli­nary sci­en­tif­ic expe­di­tion to the Antarc­tic and depths of the frozen Wed­dell Sea. The expe­di­tion brought togeth­er world-lead­ing experts in polar and marine explo­ration, in a mis­sion to solve unan­swered ques­tions about one of the least stud­ied wilder­ness areas on our plan­et. The expe­di­tion aims to inves­ti­gate the ice shelves around the Wed­dell Sea in Antarc­ti­ca, and will use the results and find­ings of the research for edu­ca­tion­al pur­pos­es. The Foun­da­tion is sup­port­ing the expe­di­tion through the pro­vi­sion of funds to facil­i­tate the high­est lev­el of exper­tise and the use of the very best tech­nol­o­gy available.
