Waves of Hope
Lewis Pugh Foundation
Only 13% of the world’s oceans can be classified as wilderness, untouched by human activities. The Southern Ocean is one of these rare areas – it is imperative that this remaining wilderness is protected as soon as possible.
The Waves of Hope project aims to foster an appetite and build support for Antarctic Ocean protection, highlighting the urgent need for a network of Marine Protected Areas – over 4 million square kilometres of Southern Ocean protection, in what would be the largest single conservation act in history.
