Shark Conservation Fund
The Shark Biodiversity Initiative is a new, ten-year global initiative to protect the biodiversity of our oceans. It’s the first-of- its-kind, global effort that will dedicate the financial, strategic, and human resources needed to protect sharks and their habitats, which are critical for a healthy ocean. The new initiative will expand the number of MPAs designed to benefit sharks and rays by leveraging public and private partnerships to establish 100 Shark Biodiversity Zones across the globe — areas specifically designed to protect sharks from key threats, reduce mortality and protect critical habitats.
