Seas At Risk

In 2008, all EU coun­tries adopt­ed the ​“EU Marine Law”, under­tak­ing a bind­ing promise to do every­thing in their pow­er to have clean and healthy seas by the year 2020. Reach­ing the dead­line, the Seas At Risk com­mu­ni­ty realised the need to dra­mat­i­cal­ly increase com­mu­ni­ca­tion efforts to exert pres­sure on gov­ern­ments to take urgent action for clean and healthy seas in Europe. 

The #Our­BlueLung project is a col­lab­o­ra­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion cam­paign, aim­ing to send a com­mon mes­sage that Euro­pean cit­i­zens demand clean­er and health­i­er EU seas. The project engages the Euro­pean pub­lic through a pop­u­lar, high-vol­ume social media cam­paign, to uni­fy and ampli­fy the shared view that it is not too late for the sea if EU gov­ern­ments take action now.
