Leveraging historic UN GFC agreement
IPEN
IPEN’s global network and partners will participate in the development of policies around the new UN Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) and other UN chemical policy agreements (Stockholm, Basel & Rotterdam Conventions and the ongoing Plastics Treaty negotiations) to advance national action to regulate highly hazardous pesticides and toxic chemicals associated with plastics. This work is critical now as the evidence shows we have already breached the “planetary boundaries” for threats from chemicals and plastics.
For this project, IPEN will advocate for global policies at GFC meetings and other global forums. IPEN supports the participation of their members at global policy forums to develop strategic advocacy, research, and communications activities in the Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Middle East regions, to promote national policies.
