Cross-pollinating a collaborative movement strategy on agrochemicals and fossil pollution
Centre for International Environnemental Law
Industrial, chemical-intensive agriculture and fossil fuels are deeply intertwined — fossil fuels are foundational to the petrochemical sector that manufactures chemical-based fertilisers and pesticides from fossil fuel feedstocks.
The project will focus on the international negotiations for a new global treaty on plastics to include petrochemicals (including agrochemical microplastics); Regional/national active agrochemical and petrochemical reduction proposals currently discussed in the European Union; and subnational legislative or regulatory initiatives in the US.
